We have our own full size and compact HD Cameras, and use Canon high definition zoom lenses, and prime cinematic lenses with the P+S Technik Pro-35 to achieve film looks which are not normally available on video cameras. We film using HDCam, HDCamSR, HDV, P2 and XDCam. On location, the latest Omnitek scopes provide the digital imaging technician (DiT) with comprehensive and accurate realtime picture analysis. Sound is recorded using Sennheiser and Neumann microphones, SQN mixer, and an array of radio microphones.
Filming a “Sponsored by…” spot for a popular UK gameshow.
A blue screen dance routine for a Westlife video. OnSet monitoring provides realtime
vectorscope and waveform, so there is never any doubt of the quality of the keyed result.
The SwissRig 3D Stereoscopic rig being prepared for an overhead shot.
This setup emphasises the need for IFX OnSet DiT monitoring.
The precision required to capture great 3D required precision alignment,
but even moving a rig into position can disturb this.
So live dual HD-SDI 0n-set checking in 3D is a great timesaver.
IFX OnSet has realtime image flipping and flopping to accomodate all rigs,
and even performs realtime 2D and 3D transforms,
so alignment can be checked using image subtraction.
The DVE can negate the interaxial distance in software, creating the perfect checking mechanism.
Price alone is not the full story when choosing a production company,
its good to also compare what equipment is being used.
This is the camera we use. It records in full HD and uses the P+S Technik
Pro-35 lens relay with 35mm cinematic prime lenses to achieve a true “film-look”.
35mm Prime Lenses give a look which is difficult to achieve using a video lens.
They enable highly selective focussing, and a very shallow depth of field.
